A Sravanam Trip to Kumbakonam
A Sravanam Trip to Kumbakonam Post coming back to India previous month, I just thought I would have a quick visit to one of Sri Vaishnava Divyadesams on a small pilgrimage. On December 3, 2008, it was Sravanam and hence I thought I would have a trip to Kumbakonam Oppiliappan temple. The uniqueness of Sravanam this month is as follows: December 3, 2008 and December 30, 2008 are two Sravanams in the same month. I started from Tambaram on 2nd December 2008 and reached Kumbakonam on 3rd morning around 4.30 AM. After quickly completing the morning rituals, I headed to the temple around 7 AM. Since we had some relatives near the temple, it was an easy process to quickly have these completed and move to the temple. I had a quick worship of the Lord. I learnt that Sravana Deepam would be starting only around 11 AM. So, I just had a quick walk to the neighboring temple (Thirunageswaram) and had worship in the Lord Siva temple there also. It is a famous Rahu sthalam. After that I returned... (more)

Day 13
Today is Friday and I have work. Yesterday I didn't even know I had work till one of the guys mentioned that today will be Friday. So how many hours of sleep did I get? Approximately 4hours. I'm the type to roll around in bed till I get tired and then I sleep. I went to bed early but I just couldn't sleep. I woke up aroundddd 7:30am. Left my house at 8:20am and got to work LATE at 9:50am. Grrrrrr but my supervisor likes me so she was like whatever. Shift was suppose to start 20minutes ago lol. As I got to the city I went to get maccas, I got a sausage muffin meal; orange juice with a mini ice coffee. This was at the Sydney Entertainment Centre btw. As I got out of the door, there's these fucking plastic shit that hangs down from it and on the side exit, there`s a slope. As I got out, the plastic things pushed my drinks off the tray and both the beverages fell on the ground and onto my shoes >=[ OMGAT, I DIDNT EVEN SIP IT YET. I was too pissed to take a photo. Lol. So I... (more)

Formate e poi... Best Buy Laptop
#1: Buy Acer Aspire AS1410-2039
Buy Acer Aspire AS1410-2039 11.6-Inch Black Laptop Of course, I've only had the thing for one day, so I can't comment yet on reliability. It does run pretty fast and boots up quickly, so no complaints on performance. I don't intend to put Photoshop on it since I just want it for review purposes and Windows Photo Viewer is perfectly adequate for that. Unfortunately, my camera uses Compact Flash cards and there's no built-in reader for them, so I have to use an external USB reader. One more thing to carry, but I can live with it. Not a huge amount of crapware on this machine and what there was was easily removed. The only other con (common to all netbooks) is that there's no CD/DVD writer. I have yet to figure out how I'd restore the system without one if the hard drive ever had to be replaced. Apparently there's some way to use a USB thumb drive but haven't figured that out. I just decided to order a USB CD/DVD writer. Don't think I'll need it much but it will... (more)
